Potrebujeme:
vosk, nádobu, formu, knôt, špajdle, nožnice
Výroba sviečky
1. Ak sa rozhodnete pre výrobu domácej sviečky, nazbierajte si dostatok vosku a už nepoužiteľných sviečok. čím viacej vosku máte, tým lepšie. Posekajte ho a vyberte si nádobu, v ktorej vosk roztopíte. Môžete použiť akúkoľvek nádobu, napr. aj starú plechovku. Typ: Použite napr. starý čajník, vosk sa vám bude nalievať do predpripravenej formy.
2. Vosk stačí roztápať pri nižších teplotách, preto nádobu s posekaným voskom postavte na sporák, ktorý stačí zapnúť na najnižší možný stupeň.
3. Požadovanú farbu vosku dosiahnete tak, že spolu s voskom necháte roztápať aj voskovú pastelku. Ak chcete pripraviť viac farebný vosk, musíte ho rozdeliť do viacerých nádob a do každej pridať pastelku požadovanej farby.
4. Ak chceme, aby nám sviečka voňala, stačí ak do rozpusteného vosku prikvapneme 2-3 kvapky vonného éterického oleja.
5. Ako formy môžeme použiť poháre (samozrejme s hrubšími stenami), šálky, zaujímavé plastové fľaše, ktoré zrežeme na požadovanú výšku, ale napr. aj formičky na vykrajovanie cesta. Tie však musíme najskôr obaliť do alobalu, aby získali dno.
6. Ak chcete aby vaša podomácky vyrobená sviečka bola skutočne originálna, skôr ako začnete vosk liať do formičky, plastu, či priehľadného pohára, môže sa rozhodnúť pre vhodnú dekoráciu. Na okraje formy môžete pritlačiť napr. sušené plátky citróna, jabĺk alebo pomaranča, hlavičky sušienok, kávové zrná, mušle, či drobné dekoratívne predmety (sklenené srdiečka alebo hviezdičky).
7. Pripravený knôt zaťažíme na dne pripínačkou a na okraj formy si pripravíme 2 špajdle tak, aby sme mohli medzi ne mohli knôt uchytiť. Po celú dobu nalievania vosku do formy musíme dbať na to, aby knôt zostal napnutý.
8. Vosk prilievame do formy pomaly a po vrstvách. Predovšetkým pokiaľ ste sa rozhodli pre viacfarebnú sviečku, musíte nechať každú farebnú vrstvu dobre stuhnúť a až potom priliať ďalšiu.
Pokiaľ ste sa rozhodli pre jednofarebnú variantu,dá sa sviečka samozrejme ďalej dekorovať. Môžete ju ozdobiť servítkovou technikou. Vhodné sú aj špeciálne „perá na vosk“, alebo dekorácia tenkým aranžovacím drôtom.
